Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri’s message on World Peace Day

September 21st, 2010

We live in a world of unprecedented challenges, posed mainly to global peace and security. After the efforts of generations, humanity has come to a point where peaceful coexistence, culture of dialogue between different religions and communities and processes of cohesion and integration among human societies has become a universally agreed principle. And we must have a firm commitment to continue to promote peaceful coexistence in this world. The efforts for global peace must continue and should not be distracted in order to ensure global peace and prosperity. While we observer World Peace Day today, it is our collective duty to work for promotion of peace in the world. My message to the younger generation is to ensure peace and love amongst yourselves, your neighbours and the society and to become torchbearers of peace and harmony at global level.

We need to understand that all religions of the world enjoin upon their followers to foster peace and renounce violence. It is wrong to bracket it with religion. Islam is a religion of love peace and knowledge and it is most unfortunate that some elements are committing the act of terrorism in the name of Islam. Such elements have no connection with Islam. Islam is a promoter of global peace.

September 9th, 2010

Naulakha Church and Directorate of Interfaith Relations of MQI jointly organized a seminar to denounce the blasphemous sketches of the Holy prophet (pbuh), which was presided over by Revered Pastor Dr Majeed Abel, while prominent religious leaders from Muslim and Christian communities were also present on the occasion. Sohail Ahmad Raza, director of Interfaith Relations, was the guest of honour. Addressing the participants, Dr Majeed Abel said that members of the Christian community join their Muslim brethren in condemning the blasphemous sketches and show our complete solidarity with the Muslim community. He said that no religion of the world allows anyone to resort to such reprehensible acts. Dr Majeed Abel said that it was clear that those individuals were committed this sin of drawing caricatures of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) had nothing to do with Christianity. ‘We do not own them as members of our community and that is why we are with our Muslim brothers to denounce them,’ he said emphatically.

Bishop of Church of Pakistan, Moderator Bishop Samuels Robert, said that mischievous elements vitiate the global peace by committing such condemnable acts and all Christian community leaders are on the same page in condemning images on the internet. ‘We have gathered in the historic Church of Lahore as a mark of our solidarity with the Muslims,’ he emphasized.

Sayyid Usman Noori said in his speech that he was thankful to the members of the Christian community who arranged this seminar to denounce the evil actions of a few individuals in such a sacred position.

Delivering his concluding speech, Sohail Ahmad Raza, Director of MQI’s Interfaith Relations, said that the enemies of the world want to destroy the global peace and want civilizational clash to take place. They continue to do such heinous acts either on internet or TV every now and then to provoke Muslims into violent reaction so that their dream of interfaith clash could come true.
Sohail Ahmad Raza thanked the Christian community for holding this seminar and expressing their support with the Muslims. He said that it was a classic example of interfaith harmony and tolerance. He said that all of us were together to protect the sanctity of our religious personages.
The Muslim and Christian Community leaders passed a unanimous resolution which condemned the blasphemous images and asked the international community to take notice of such online activities and seek an end to their recurrence.

Interfaith Dialogue – Sunna of Prophet Muhammad saw

Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) allowed cristians to perform their prayersin Masjid-e-Nabivi…According to Sahi Bukhari “when cristains came toProphet Muhammad(PBUH)  to have talks on some issues and after some time of arrival, they said that, it’s time for their prayer and their was not a church near by, Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) allowed them to pray in masjid-e-nabavi in Madina Munavara”….Prophet S.A.W.S did this to discorage the difference between cristains and muslims. at that point of time..According to some Hikmat… Prophet S.A.W.S used to get involved with people of different religions and try to call them towards islam..with certain Hikmat…depending upon the conditions and depending upon the thoughts of people…ONLY FOR THE SAKE OF ALLAH,ISLAAM,TO SAVE PEOPLE’S IMAAN, TO SAVE THEM FROM THE FIRE OF HELL, TO GUILD THEM AND PUT THEM ON THE RIGHT PATH WHICH GOES TO ALLAH.
